To make the fun dog bone shapes you will need a Silicone dog bone cookie sheet or dog bone cookies cutters. Using a silicone pan is great because they pop right out and cook evenly.
Homemade Peanut Dog Treats Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup oats
- 1/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
- 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon applesauce
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Combine all dry ingredients in a medium bowl.
3. Add wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
4. Knead into a well formed ball.
5. Press dough into the cavities of the dog treat “cookie” pan. If you don’t have this pan you can also roll the dough out on a wax paper lined cookie sheet until about 1/2 thick. Then use dog bone cookies cutters to create the fun dog bone shape.
6. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
7. Store in an airtight container.

Apple Crunch Pup-Cakes
Makes approximately 20 pup cakes
Ingredients:
- 1-3/8 cups water
- 1/8 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 egg white
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup apple, dried
- 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
- dog bone cookie baking tray
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a small bowl, mix together water, applesauce, honey, and egg.
- In a larger bowl, combine flour, apple chips, and baking powder.
- Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until very well blended.
- Pour into greased pan cavities and bake 20 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry.
- Store in a sealed container.

Peanut Butter Pup-Sicles
Serve and watch your dog smile. This is a fantastic cool treat for a hot afternoon. You can substitute 1 cup whole Blueberries and 1-1/2 cups chopped Strawberries for the peanut butter if you like.
Ingredients:
- 32 oz. container or vanilla yogurt (regular or fat-free)
- 1 cup peanut butter
- dog bone cookie baking tray
Directions:
- In a microwaveable bowl, microwave the peanut butter until it is melted.
- When it is melted, add the yogurt and mix well.
- Spoon the mixture into the dog bone cavities in the baking tray.
- Then freeze until hardened.
Easy Paleo Salmon Dog Burgers Recipe

We found this recipe in the book Paleo Chef for Dogs: Homemade Gluten-Free Dog Food Recipes, from Casey Merrick and found both dogs and cats love it. It is so natural even people could eat it too and it’s rather good as we tasted it ourselves after we made it. The ingredients are simple and it’s easy to make. Did you know that eating Paleo is basically just eating “real food”? The name might confuse some people but if you remember that eating simple is really what it’s all about.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb. (225 gr) canned salmon, drained and deboned
- 1 sweet potato, grated
- 1 carrot, diced
- 1 stalk celery, diced
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 3 Tbsp. (25 gr) almond flour
- 1-2 Tbsp. (15-30 ml) olive oil, optional
Directions:
- Combine salmon, sweet potato, diced carrot and celery in a mixing bowl, stirring well.
- Add the egg and almond flour and stir until the mixture starts to stick. Add olive oil, if necessary.
- Shape the mixture by hand into patties.
- Serve cold or sear in a frying pan.
