As soon as the weather turns crisp, I wake up with a headache and many times a bloody nose, all because of the dry air cold weather brings. A humidifier helps alleviate the dryness in our house, and can also help with sinuses. I was able to test out the new Breath humidifier by roolen and this is what I found out.
roolen is the designer and manufacturer of smart home appliances. They have reinvented the traditional portable humidifier by unveiling Breath, the first smart humidifier that combines a chic look, technology and efficiency.
The Breath by roolen is the first humidifier that employs Japanese ceramic ultrasonic transducers to produce heat. Unlike traditional transducers powered by transistors, the high-tech system in Breath generates a stable, reliable and continuous heat source without overheating.
Breath measures only 10 inches tall, weighs less than 2.5 pounds, is the smallest unit with the largest tank capacity and is ideal for rooms up to 400 square feet. It is manufactured in Taiwan using only the highest quality components; comes in ivory white or jet black, and will be available in October for $129 at Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyond and QVC.
roolen Breath replaces outdated equipment with a proprietary technology that automatically detects and adjusts humidity output levels to maintain the room between 40% and 55% humidify. The same technology also increases efficiency and achieves maximum comfort for a longer time by producing smaller water molecules and consuming less energy and water when compared to traditional models.
The roolen Breath humidifier is super easy to setup in about 2 minutes:
1. Remove the base from the water tank.
2. Fill the water tank. There is no indicator but you will know when it is full because you won’t be able to add anymore water.
3. Snap the base back on.
4. Plug it in and press the button on the back to turn it on.
I have been testing out the roolen Breath humidifier for about 3 hours and it’s the quietest humidifier I have ever used. Right now I have it in my office. I noticed that it is designed to cover a 400 square foot room so you need to keep that in mind when you are thinking about purchasing it so you will know what room you want to place it in.
We also own an all-house humidifier that covers a lot more space and that humidifier is super loud. Basically, it sounds like a truck is driving through your house and it’s huge and takes up a large area in one corner of our house. You can’t even talk on the phone if you are near it. You hardly notice that the roolen is even on because it is so quiet. I love that. When it is on you notice the mist that comes from the top. It is a cool mist so you don’t have to worry about getting burned and there are not filters to replace. That alone will save you a lot of money.
I’m happy that someone finally invented a humidifier that helps with the humidity level and looks good too. It is aesthetically pleasing and fits right in with my decor. There are no switches or knobs, just the small push button on the back. You push the button once to turn it on and then push several more times to get the level you want – low, high and auto. It automatically shuts off when it is out of water.
In the front there is a small indicator light. A green light means it is on and a red light means it is out of water.
Note: There are certain kinds of water they suggest you do not use because of high mineral content that can cause damage to the humidifier. They suggest that you use filtered water.
Do not use: tap water, ground water, Geothermal water, Acidulated water, mineral water, or Ionized alkaline water
“The roolen Breath is a game changer in the realm of household electronics, proving that efficient functionality can also be extremely stylish,” said Jasper Shih, Marketing Manager of roolen. “The Breath exemplifies our belief that perfect products can be achieved through uncompromising attention to even the smallest details.”
To maintain any humidifier you should follow these simple steps:
Remove the water tank and empty the water out from both the tank and water basin.
Fill the tank with 2 cups of water and 1/3 cup of white vinegar. Shake vigorously and let it site for 20 minutes. Shake vigorously again and empty the tank. Rinse the water tank a few times to rid any vinegar smell and wipe it clean.
By using vinegar you will ensure your humidifier will last a long time.
In Conclusion: the roolen Breath is everything I could want in a humidifier for a smaller room. It is quiet, works great, easy to fill, and looks great too.
