The Connecticut Patriots Fife and Drum Corps are pleased to announce An Evening of International Fife and Drum, featuring The Rhine River Rebels from Basel, Switzerland and The STPV – The Swiss Association for Fifers and Drummers.
Since their emergence in 2001, The Rhine River Rebels have been cultivating a strong fife and drum relationship with the Patriots. Performing on numerous occasions together, the two groups have continued a tradition of friendship through the common bond of fife and drum.
The Swiss Association for Fifers and Drummers, comprised of piccolos and drums from all over the country of Switzerland, are making their third trip to the U.S. The group made their first appearance in the U.S. in 1970 and most recently in 1997 when they performed with The Connecticut Patriots and Ameri-Clique in a concert also held in Bristol, CT. The STPV is made up of over 80 members, and proudly performs the traditional marching music of Switzerland.
The concert is being held in the newly renovated amphitheater of historic Rockwell Park in Bristol, CT. The concert is free of admission for all to enjoy. More information to come on additional performance groups. Following the concert will be a Jam Session/Party at the Polish Club in Bristol, CT for a nominal admission fee.
