DESCRIPTION:The Fairfield University Quick Center for the Arts will present an encore screening of The Met: Live in HD production of El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego on Tuesday\, June 2\, 2026\, at 1 pm. \nConcluding the Metropolitan Opera’s season\, this acclaimed new work by composer Gabriela Lena Frank features a libretto by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Nilo Cruz and tells a magical-realist story inspired by the lives of renowned artists Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. The opera follows Frida’s return from the underworld for a brief reunion with Diego\, exploring the enduring love\, creativity\, and emotional complexities that defined their relationship. \nMezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard stars as Frida Kahlo alongside baritone Carlos Álvarez as Diego Rivera\, with Metropolitan Opera Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducting this Met-premiere production. Directed and choreographed by Deborah Colker\, the visually striking staging draws inspiration from the artists’ iconic paintings and has earned praise for its vibrant imagery and emotional storytelling. \nThe Quick Center for the Arts is located at 1073 North Benson Road\, Fairfield\, CT 06824. DESCRIPTION:Classic cars and community spirit take center stage at the CT Seaport Car Club’s 10th Annual Antique and Classic Car Show on Sunday\, June 7\, 2026\, from 9 am to 3 pm at Fairfield Ludlowe High School\, 785 Unquowa Road\, Fairfield\, CT 06824. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday\, June 14\, 2026. \nCelebrating a decade of automotive excellence\, this milestone charity event welcomes everything from pristine antiques to well-loved classics. More than 100 trophies and awards will be presented\, and the show is designated as an Official Connecticut Cruise News 20 Ring Event\, sponsored by Auto Sales & Service\, Inc. In 2025\, 264 show cars registered—100 more than the previous year—highlighting the event’s growing popularity. \nThe day’s special events begin at 10:30 am with a blessing of the show cars by a Jesuit priest\, followed by a demonstration by the Fairfield Police K9 Unit at 11 am. Live music from Jukebox 45 Show Band\, Connecticut’s premier 50s and 60s band\, will fill the air from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Food trucks and vendors will be on site throughout the day\, and the first 100 show vehicles will receive dash plaques and goody bags. \nShow car entry is $20\, and admission is free for spectators. All proceeds benefit Operation Hope of Fairfield\, supporting the organization’s work in the local community. \nCar show parking is located in the back parking lot of Fairfield Ludlowe High School\, with many shaded spots available.
