DESCRIPTION:Vocalist Jenna Mammina and guitarist Rolf Sturm bring their distinctive jazz and pop crossover sound to the Poli Club at Palace Theater on Friday\, November 13\, 2026\, with performances at 7 pm and 9 pm. Together\, they create fresh\, imaginative interpretations of popular songs in an intimate duo setting. \nMammina and Sturm first met in New York City in late 1995 while rehearsing with a 17-piece rock orchestra focused on the music of the Grateful Dead. Although they had discussed forming a duo for years\, it was not until 2014 that they decided the time had come. After reconnecting\, they performed their first show together in nearly 18 years and recorded their debut duo album\, Spark\, which was released in 2015 and received nationwide radio play and positive reviews. Their second album\, Begin To Dance\, followed in 2017. \nSince reconnecting\, the pair has toured extensively\, performing at festivals\, conferences\, clubs\, cafes and house concerts across the United States and beyond. Their long musical history and natural chemistry have earned praise from audiences who describe the pairing as something special. \nMammina has been recognized by Jazziz Magazine as one of the leading women of jazz/pop crossover for three consecutive years and was named Jazz Performer of the Year by SF Weekly. She has performed with artists including Ricki Lee Jones\, Bobby McFerrin\, Al Jarreau\, David Sanborn\, Phish and Rosemary Clooney\, and has appeared at venues and festivals including Yoshi’s\, the Green Mill\, Jazz Aspen and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. \nSturm has performed on more than 65 albums and has worked with artists including Loudon Wainwright\, David Johansen\, Jorma Kaukonen\, Maggie Roche\, Ike Willis\, Roswell Rudd\, Archie Shepp\, Tony Trischka\, John Medeski and Catherine Russell. His performances have taken him to venues and festivals including Lincoln Center\, the Kennedy Center and the JVC\, Syracuse and Toronto Jazz Festivals. His music has also been featured on NPR and received four stars from DownBeat magazine. \nThe performances take place at the Poli Club at Palace Theater\, 100 East Main Street\, Waterbury\, Connecticut.
