SUMMARY:Bank of America Capalbo Strong Walk at Jennings Beach
DESCRIPTION:The Bank of America Capalbo Strong Walk returns to Fairfield on Sunday\, October 4\, honoring the legacy of Charlie Capalbo and bringing the community together to support pediatric cancer research and families facing similar challenges. \nRegistration begins at 7 am\, with the 24K walk starting at 8 am from Jennings Beach. The walk continues his legacy by raising funds for pediatric cancer efforts\, including the Charlie Capalbo Memorial Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute\, as well as future grants to local hospitals\, programs\, and organizations that support families facing childhood cancer. \nThe Bank of America Capalbo Strong Walk takes place at Jennings Beach in Fairfield\, CT. The new home-based route allows more friends\, neighbors\, and supporters to participate while honoring Charlie in the community where he lived and was deeply loved. \nLearn more and register

SUMMARY:Rooted in Remedy: Colonial Herbal Wisdom Comes Alive at The Glebe House Museum & Gertrude Jekyll Garden
DESCRIPTION:Discover the history of herbal medicine in Colonial America through a two-part program led by Dr. Eugene Zampieron\, known as Dr. Z\, at The Glebe House Museum & Gertrude Jekyll Garden in Woodbury. \nThe series begins online on Wednesday\, September 23\, at 6 pm with a presentation introducing the foundations of colonial herbal medicine. Participants will make a healing salve and choose between a Colonial-style cough remedy or an immune-supporting tonic. Each participant will take home their handmade preparations along with knowledge of how to recreate them at home. \nThe program fee is $65 per person and includes both sessions\, equipment use\, and all supplies. Pre-registration is required.
