SUMMARY:Watershed Week at Connecticut River Museum
DESCRIPTION:The Connecticut River and the communities connected to it take center stage during Watershed Week\, taking place September 18 through 27\, 2026\, as partners throughout the Connecticut River watershed come together to celebrate and protect this national treasure. \nNow in its second year\, Watershed Week is organized by the Connecticut River Watershed Partnership and brings together organizations and volunteers across all four watershed states. The week-long celebration encourages participants to learn more about their local watershed and the people working to enhance\, restore and protect the Connecticut River and its surrounding communities. \nThe Connecticut River Museum will kick off the week with a Block Party on Saturday\, September 19. The free\, family-friendly event will feature a full day of activities along with a Source to Sea Cleanup in partnership with Sustainable Essex. \nThroughout Watershed Week\, visitors can also explore the museum’s exhibits to learn about the history and ecology of the Connecticut River. The special exhibit Rhythm of the River: Music and Memory Along the Connecticut is currently on view\, featuring original art\, photographs\, sheet music\, sound recordings and other materials exploring the sounds and music that have shaped life along the river. \nWatershed Week takes place September 18 through 27 at the Connecticut River Museum\, 67 Main Street\, Essex\, Connecticut 06426. The band blends traditional Yolŋu Manikay song traditions with surf rock\, indie\, and funk to create its signature “Yolŋu surf-rock” sound. Their energetic performances and unique musical style have earned international recognition while celebrating the culture and heritage of the Yolŋu people. \nThis is a free ticketed event.
