DESCRIPTION:Creativity\, history\, and hands-on discovery come together during Camp Matt at the Mattatuck Museum\, running from June 29 through August 7. The Museum’s School’s OUT! Summer Adventures Camp will feature six themed weeks designed to immerse children in artmaking\, storytelling\, history\, and interactive learning experiences inspired by the Museum’s galleries and exhibitions. \nCamp sessions run daily from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm\, with free before and after care available from 8 am to 9 am and from 3:30 pm to 5 pm. Each week introduces campers to a different theme through unique art techniques\, creative exploration\, and engaging activities. \nThe first week\, Backstage Pass\, runs June 29 through July 2 and explores the connection between music and visual art through the Museum’s concert poster exhibition. Additional themed weeks include Archiving America: 250 Years of Stories from July 6 through July 10\, Passport to Paint from July 13 through July 17\, Art Safari from July 20 through July 24\, The Art of the Experiment from July 27 through July 31\, and Art Unbound from August 3 through August 7. \nThe program encourages campers to experiment with artistic techniques\, explore cultural traditions\, and discover storytelling through art\, science\, movement\, and sound.
