DESCRIPTION:American Mural Project will host two spring Family Days on Saturday\, April 12 and Saturday\, May 3\, 2025\, from 10 am to 5 pm at its gallery in Winsted. These special events offer fun and educational hands-on programs for children and families\, with free admission for kids under 18. \nEach Family Day features engaging\, age-appropriate activities designed to spark curiosity and creativity\, including games\, art projects\, storytime\, and interactive learning sessions. Families can explore the mural and exhibits with scavenger hunts and “I Spy” challenges\, take part in all-ages art projects\, and enjoy thematic story hours and crafts. \nThe April 12 program\, “Who Works with Pollinators? A Biologist!” explores the role of native shrubs and trees in pollinator ecosystems. On May 3\, “Who Works with Plants and Flowers? A Botanist!” delves into the fascinating underground communication networks between plants and includes planting activities with a master gardener. \nFamily Days also include the Teen Art Studio\, a collaborative makerspace open from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm for ages 13–18\, guided by a teaching artist. A $5 materials fee applies to Teen Art Studio participants or is waived with an AMP Annual Student Pass. \nGeneral admission is $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and veterans.
