Campers will also learn about herbal remedies and kitchen gardens\, create nature-inspired art\, and gain insight into early American trades and daily life. \nLed by experienced educators\, the program is designed to provide a safe\, engaging\, and interactive environment that encourages curiosity about history\, horticulture\, the arts\, and the lives of those who came before us. Through hands-on experiences and living history activities\, children will gain a deeper appreciation for Connecticut’s past while making lasting summer memories. \nThe program runs Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3 pm. Registration fees are $250 per child for museum members and $275 per child for non-members. Families who register by June 30\, 2026\, will receive a 10% early bird discount. Guests can also enjoy panoramic harbor views from the outdoor deck while learning about the lighthouse’s colorful history\, including stories of pirates and buried treasure connected to the region. \nThe journey continues to Sheffield Island Lighthouse\, a Victorian-era landmark built in 1868 and listed as a National Historic Site.
