DESCRIPTION:A contemporary art exhibition exploring the expressive power of materials will be on view from May 9 through May 17\, 2026 at browngrotta arts\, 276 Ridgefield Road\, Wilton\, CT 06897. \nTransformations: Dialogues in Art and Material brings together nearly three dozen international artists working across a wide range of mediums\, including clay\, silk\, steel\, bark\, bamboo\, seaweed\, and horsehair. The exhibition examines how artists engage with materials as active collaborators\, shaping and reimagining them to create meaningful\, sensory experiences. Through this approach\, the show highlights the concept of “material intelligence\,” where artistic vision and technical understanding combine to transform raw matter into compelling works of art. \nVisitors will encounter a diverse collection of sculptures\, textiles\, and mixed-media works that demonstrate how different artists can achieve strikingly varied results even when working with similar materials. The exhibition emphasizes the relationship between concept and craft\, offering insight into how materials influence artistic outcomes. \nThe exhibition opens on May 9 from 11 am to 6 pm with an opening and artists’ reception. SUMMARY:Food Truck Festival 2026 at Schenck’s Island
DESCRIPTION:A day of food\, history\, and community celebration will take place on May 31\, 2026 from 11 am to 4 pm at Schenck’s Island\, 202 Old Ridgefield Road\, Wilton\, CT 06897. \nHosted by the Wilton Historical Society\, the Food Truck Festival 2026 brings together a variety of local food trucks\, live entertainment\, immersive historical experiences\, and family-friendly activities\, with all proceeds supporting the museum’s educational and preservation efforts. \nFestivalgoers can sample food from some of the area’s top food vendors while also exploring Wilton’s culinary history through colonial-era reenactments and demonstrations led by historical educators. Additional activities throughout the day include live music\, historically inspired games and crafts\, face painting\, and interactive experiences for visitors of all ages. \nThe event is presented in partnership with Wilton Pride and the Wilton Coalition for Youth’s #Wiltoniswhereyoubelong campaign. Guests are encouraged to also visit the Be You Pride Festival taking place nearby on the Town Green. \nAdmission is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 18. Tickets are required for games\, demonstrations\, and food purchases\, which are available at an additional cost.
