SUMMARY:Independence Revisited: Sharon in 1776\, 1876 & 1976 at Sharon Historical Society & Museum
DESCRIPTION:Explore Sharon’s history through three pivotal years in American history with Independence Revisited: Sharon in 1776\, 1876 & 1976. On view from April 22\, 2026\, through January 15\, 2027\, the exhibition examines how national changes shaped life in Sharon and influenced the community’s identity over time. \nBeginning with everyday life in the 18th century\, the exhibition traces Sharon’s physical\, social\, and political development. It also explores how the town chose to commemorate\, interpret\, or overlook its Revolutionary-era heritage during the anniversaries of American independence in 1876 and 1976. \nAdmission is free. The Sharon Historical Society & Museum is located at 18 Main Street\, Sharon\, CT 06069. Museum hours are Wednesday through Friday\, noon to 4 pm\, and Saturday\, 10 am to 2 pm. \nFor additional information\, contact director@sharonhist.org.
