SUMMARY:Noah Preminger Quartet Jazz Concert at Milford Arts Council
DESCRIPTION:A night of contemporary jazz comes to Milford on Friday\, March 20\, 2026 at 7:30 pm at the Milford Arts Council\, 40 Railroad Avenue South\, Milford\, CT 06460. Doors open at 7 pm\, and the Speakeasy will be open for snacks and beverages. \nThe concert features the Noah Preminger Quartet as part of the Milford Arts Council’s Jazz Series. Saxophonist Noah Preminger\, a Connecticut native who grew up in Canton and attended Hall High School in West Hartford\, has built an international reputation for his expressive playing and inventive compositions. From an early age\, Preminger dedicated himself to music\, often practicing for hours each day as he developed the distinctive sound that would later define his career. \nPreminger released his debut album\, Dry Bridge Road\, shortly after his 21st birthday\, earning Debut of the Year in the Village Voice Critics Poll. Since then\, he has been named a Rising Star Best Tenor Saxophonist twice by DownBeat magazine and has released more than 20 critically acclaimed albums as a bandleader. His performances have taken him to major jazz venues around the world\, collaborating with leading artists in contemporary jazz. \nIn 2025\, Preminger released two new recordings: Ballads on the Chill Tone label\, featuring pianist Julian Shore\, bassist Kim Cass\, and drummer Allan Mednard\, and Dark Days on the Criss Cross label\, featuring guitarist Ely Perlman\, bassist Kim Cass\, and drummer Terreon Gully. In addition to performing\, Preminger serves on the faculty of the Longy School of Music of Bard College and is a board member of JazzBoston. \nThe New York Times has praised Preminger for designing “a different kind of sound for each note\,” while The Boston Globe describes him as “a master with standards and ballads\, as well as an adventurous composer.” \nFor tickets and additional information\, visit milfordarts.org/event/noah-preminger-quartet-jazz-concert/ or call the Milford Arts Council at 203-878-6647.
