DESCRIPTION:An evening of cross-cultural music and contemporary Mediterranean fusion will take place on May 30\, 2026 at 7:30 pm at the Milford Arts Council\, 40 Railroad Avenue South\, Milford\, CT 06460. Doors open at 7 pm. \nLed by award-winning composer and oud player Josh Kaye\, Baklava Express brings together Ashkenazi and Mizrahi folk traditions with a wide range of Mediterranean musical influences for a unique and genre-defying concert experience. The New York City-based ensemble is known for blending rich cultural traditions with contemporary improvisation and energetic live performance. \nThe group features Josh Kaye on oud and composition alongside Daisy Castro on violin\, James Robbins on bass\, and Jeremy Smith on percussion. Together\, they create a layered and dynamic sound shaped by the diverse musical backgrounds of the performers. \nBaklava Express has appeared at festivals and cultural events including the Brooklyn International Music Festival\, the Greek Jewish Festival\, and the Nyack Jazz Festival.
