SUMMARY:Garden Conservancy Open Days: Litchfield County Gardens Tour
DESCRIPTION:Garden enthusiasts are invited to explore three remarkable private gardens during the Garden Conservancy’s Open Days program on June 27\, 2026. This special one-day event offers a rare opportunity to visit distinctive landscapes throughout Litchfield County and experience the creativity\, vision\, and dedication behind some of Connecticut’s most inspiring gardens. \nParticipating gardens include Treetop in Cornwall\, created by author Roxana Robinson. This hillside retreat features colorful plantings of giant ferns\, orange tithonia\, and red salvias woven into a woodland setting\, with highlights including a frog pond and a wren house that contribute to its natural\, informal character. \nIn Kent\, visitors can explore Sculpturedale\, a woodland garden showcasing native and organically grown plants such as clethra\, hydrangea\, cardinal flower\, and ligularia. Meandering paths\, including the Primrose Path\, lead guests through the landscape\, where life-size steel sculptures provide dramatic focal points. \nThe Garden of Bunny Williams in Falls Village offers a 15-acre woodland sanctuary filled with meandering paths\, perennial borders\, a fishpond\, and a conservatory featuring tropical plants. One of the garden’s most distinctive attractions is its Birdhouse Village\, displaying a collection of antique birdhouses. \nThe gardens will be open from 10 am to 4 pm for registered guests. Admission is $10 per person or $5 for Garden Conservancy members. Children ages 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Advance online registration is required\, and pets are not permitted. \nThe Garden Conservancy’s Open Days program is the nation’s only garden-visiting program of its kind\, providing access to extraordinary private gardens across the country and inspiring a deeper appreciation for horticulture and landscape design. \nFor registration and additional information\, visit gardenconservancy.org/opendays.
