SUMMARY:Connecticut Ballet presents: Giselle at The Bushnell
DESCRIPTION:Connecticut Ballet closes its 45th season with a performance of Giselle on June 20\, 2026 at 7:30 pm at The Bushnell. The production runs approximately 2 hours\, including an 18-minute intermission. \nConsidered one of ballet’s greatest romantic tragedies\, Giselle tells the story of a young woman betrayed by a nobleman and transformed into one of the Wilis\, supernatural spirits who seek revenge after dying before their wedding day. Since its 1841 premiere\, the ballet has remained one of the most celebrated works in classical dance. \nSet to the iconic score by Adolphe Adam\, the production stars Oksana Maslova\, principal dancer with the Philadelphia Ballet\, in the title role. Maslova previously debuted as Giselle with Connecticut Ballet in 2014 and appeared as the Sugar Plum Fairy in the company’s recent production of The Nutcracker. Joining her as Albrecht is Philadelphia Ballet principal dancer Sterling Baca\, making his Connecticut Ballet debut. \nArtistic Director Brett Raphael describes the production as an evening of “high drama and passion\,” highlighting the emotional intensity and timeless storytelling that have made Giselle a ballet classic for nearly two centuries. \nThe production is recommended for children ages 8 and older. While generally appropriate for families\, the story includes themes involving death and supernatural spirits. \nGroup ticket pricing is available for parties of 10 or more by calling 860-987-5959 or emailing groups@bushnell.org. \nFor tickets and additional information\, visit The Bushnell
