DESCRIPTION:Capture your summer memories in a one-of-a-kind way at Craft Workshop: Create a Travel Journal on Saturday\, July 12\, 2025\, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History in Hartford. \nIn this introductory-level bookmaking workshop\, participants will explore the art and history of handmade books while creating their own hand-bound travel journal. Using an accordion-style design with your choice of ribbon\, leather\, or button closure\, you’ll learn the vocabulary and binding techniques needed to craft a meaningful keepsake perfect for documenting your adventures. \nAll materials are provided\, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own scrapbooking paper\, drawings\, or paintings for a personalized cover. This workshop is suitable for ages 16 and up. \nTickets are $30 for general admission\, $25 for Connecticut Museum members at levels under $150\, and free for members at levels of $150 and above. \nThe workshop will be led by Mya Concepcion\, a museum educator and working artist with a BFA in Painting and Art History from the Hartford Art School. \nThe Connecticut Museum of Culture and History is located at 1 Elizabeth Street\, Hartford\, Connecticut.
