DESCRIPTION:A new exhibition exploring untold stories of the American Revolution will be on view from June 11 through October 3\, 2026 at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum\, 295 West Avenue\, Norwalk\, CT 06856. \nOpening day on June 11 begins with exhibition access from 2 pm to 4 pm\, followed by a reception from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Curated by museum consultant Stacey Danielson\, with assistance from curatorial researcher Midge Lopat\, the exhibit commemorates the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence by examining the Revolutionary War through the lives of the Lockwood and Mathews families. \nThe exhibition highlights newly uncovered research on Patriot ancestors\, including Captain Eliphalet Lockwood of Norwalk\, whose home was destroyed during the war\, and Lieutenant Colonel Sampson Mathews of the Virginia Militia.
