DESCRIPTION:A new exhibition exploring untold stories of the American Revolution will be on view from June 11 through October 3\, 2026 at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum\, 295 West Avenue\, Norwalk\, CT 06856. \nOpening day on June 11 begins with exhibition access from 2 pm to 4 pm\, followed by a reception from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Curated by museum consultant Stacey Danielson\, with assistance from curatorial researcher Midge Lopat\, the exhibit commemorates the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence by examining the Revolutionary War through the lives of the Lockwood and Mathews families. \nThe exhibition highlights newly uncovered research on Patriot ancestors\, including Captain Eliphalet Lockwood of Norwalk\, whose home was destroyed during the war\, and Lieutenant Colonel Sampson Mathews of the Virginia Militia. The three-day festival features Italian food\, live entertainment\, family fun\, and religious celebrations honoring the Society’s longstanding heritage in the community. \nThe festival is open Friday\, July 31\, and Saturday\, August 1\, from 5 pm to 11 pm\, and Sunday\, August 2\, from 5 pm to 10 pm. Live entertainment includes Johnny Six Gun performing classic rock favorites on Friday\, Deana Martin with special guest Tony Orlando on Saturday\, and Brat Pack performing hits from the 1980s on Sunday. Admission is $5\, and children ages 12 and under are admitted free. \nFestival traditions begin with a Candlelight Procession on Thursday\, July 30\, at dusk. Participants will pray the Rosary while walking through the neighborhood before concluding at the chapel to formally open the Feast.
