The presentation will examine his enlistment\, military service\, and the circumstances surrounding his death while also highlighting how genealogical and historical research can uncover the lives and contributions of individuals whose stories are often overlooked in history. \nThe virtual event is free and open to the public. Presented in partnership with Trinity Bar & Restaurant\, this free community viewing experience transforms downtown into a gathering place for fans to cheer on their favorite teams\, enjoy local food specials\, and celebrate the world’s biggest sporting event. \nMost matches will be screened outdoors at Pitkin Plaza\, creating a lively festival atmosphere complete with fellow supporters\, outdoor seating\, and family-friendly fun. Matches that cannot be shown outside due to local noise ordinances or weather conditions will be available indoors at Trinity Bar & Restaurant. \nThe first round of screenings begins on June 11 and continues daily through June 27\, featuring dozens of World Cup matches from across the tournament’s group stage. Additional screenings for the knockout rounds and championship matches will continue through July 19. \nVisitors can take advantage of special dining promotions from local restaurants throughout the tournament\, including discounts and special World Cup-themed meals from Trinity Bar & Restaurant\, Tacos Los Gordos\, It’s Thai Time\, Blue Orchid\, Sweet Mary’s Bakery\, and other participating downtown businesses. \nThe World Cup Village is free to attend and welcomes fans of all ages. Leashed pets are also welcome at outdoor screenings. Guests are encouraged to bring friends\, grab takeout from local restaurants\, and enjoy the international atmosphere as teams from around the globe compete for soccer’s most prestigious title. \nOutdoor screenings take place at Pitkin Plaza\, located at 145 Orange Street in downtown New Haven. Special guest remarks will be delivered during the opening reception by Consul General Seiichirō Takahashi\, the head diplomat of the Consulate General of Japan in Boston. \nThrough historical and contemporary works\, Yokai Parade examines how these legendary figures have evolved over time. The exhibition features traditional picture scrolls\, colorful nishiki-e woodblock prints\, toys\, films\, and other media that illustrate the enduring influence of yokai in Japanese culture.
