Written and directed by playwright Mark Proulx of Agawam\, Massachusetts\, the two-act play explores the unsettling possibilities of artificial intelligence and the ways rapidly evolving technology can blur the line between innovation and danger. The story examines the human cost of technological advancement and raises questions about what happens when the tools people create begin to shape—or potentially control—their lives. \nThe staged reading will feature a cast including Krystle Bernier\, Rachel Berezin\, Gene Choquette\, Zach Gray\, Josh Prouser\, Kate Stango\, Dorine Tayts\, and Chris Webber. \nThe Page to Stage series is designed to support playwrights while giving audiences a behind-the-scenes look at how new plays develop. Through themes of compassion\, transformation\, and love\, the story unfolds with memorable characters and moments that have captivated audiences for generations. \nThe production features an Oscar-winning and Tony Award–nominated score by Alan Menken\, with lyrics by Tim Rice and a book by Linda Woolverton. Classic songs such as “Be Our Guest” and “Beauty and the Beast” are brought to life with updated staging\, elaborate new sets\, and dazzling costumes. Members of the original Tony Award–winning creative team reunite for this production\, including director and choreographer Matt West\, scenic designer Stanley A.
