Writing in Mark Twain’s Library at Mark Twain House & Museum

Writers looking for a quiet and inspiring creative space can spend an evening Writing in Mark Twain’s Library at the Mark Twain House & Museum on May 28 from 5 pm to 7 pm. The event offers uninterrupted writing time inside Mark Twain’s personal library, giving participants an opportunity to work independently in one of Hartford’s most historic literary spaces.

Designed as a relaxed writing session rather than a formal class or workshop, the experience invites attendees to focus on their own projects while surrounded by the atmosphere of Twain’s home. The quiet setting includes the sounds of the nearby conservatory fountain and the historic environment that once inspired one of America’s most celebrated authors.

Participants are welcome to bring laptops, though charging stations will not be available. To help preserve the historic space, only pencils may be used for handwritten work, and pens are not permitted.
