Women in Photography: Then + Now at Garde Arts Center

An evening celebrating the history, creativity, and impact of women and underrepresented genders in photography will take place on June 3, 2026 at the Garde Arts Center, 325 State Street, New London, CT 06320.
Presented by Artreach, Inc. in collaboration with AtelierMOCA and Be Well Productions, Women in Photography: Then + Now combines visual art, theater, and conversation into a multidisciplinary cultural event exploring the past, present, and future of photography.
Guests can begin the evening between 6 pm and 7 pm in the Lobby Gallery with the exhibition Unseen Stories, featuring photography and opportunities to meet participating artists and members of AtelierMOCA.
The main program begins at 7 pm in the Oasis Room with Breaking Glass, a one-woman play inspired by pioneering Victorian photographer Julia Margaret Cameron. The production is written and performed by Emma Palzere-Rae and directed by Kato McNickle.
Following an intermission with refreshments, the evening concludes with a fireside conversation featuring AtelierMOCA and Emma Palzere-Rae, moderated by Artreach Executive Director Becca Atkins.
Admission is free and open to the public, with donations benefiting Artreach accepted during the event.
