Winter Carnival at Mount Southington Ski Area

Join us for Winter Carnival 2023 on Sunday, February 12th, 2023 at Mount Southington Ski Area in Plantsville is Co-Hosted by our Friends at Alpine Haus. This event is free to anyone with a Mount Southington lift ticket or pass!
The festivities will include:
10:30AM – 5:00PM: D.J. Billy Jones will be spinning your favorite tunes.11:00pm – 1:00pm Valentine The Clown
Meet and Greet, Face Painting, Pocket Magic and Balloon Animals
11:00 AM Big Air Competition on Thunderbolt
8:30AM – 10:30AM Registration in The Mountain Room
3 jumps will be built
Tiny Air Jump Ages 3-6 This jump will be accessible by foot
Little Air Jump Ages 7 and up
Big Air Jump Ages 7 and up
Judges will be looking for Style/Trick/Airtime
3:30PM Cardboard Box Race on Thunderbolt
Registration and Rules can be pickup in Guest Services
Registration Ends at noon February 12, 2023
2:30pm – 3:15PM Judging of the Box Racers at the bottom of Thunderbolt.
3:30PM Cardboard box Race Starts
Awards Given out at conclusion of race
8:00PM Torch Light Parade: The Mountain goes dark and guests will be treated to a torchlight parade which will serpentine down Avalanche. A spectacular sight to see as 70 skiers and snowboarders carry torches down from the top of the mountain.
8:30AM – 5PM Coloring Contest with prizes awarded in 4 age categories
We will choose winners from four age categories: ages 3-5, 6-8, 9-11, and 12-adult. We will announce the winner’s names on social media. Also, finalist’s entries will be placed on display inside the lodge.
