2019 WestFest at West Haven Green Historic District West Haven

The 2019 WestFest will be held on September 7th from 11 am to 5 pm at the West Haven Green. WestFest is a community festival held on the West Haven Green from 11 am to 5 pm on Saturday, September 7th, with a Sunday, September 8th rain date. Featured at WestFest will be a variety of food trucks, live music, inflatables, a dunk tank, pie-eating contest, and more. WestFest 2019 is proudly title sponsored by the University of New Haven Mayor’s Advisory Commission, the University of New Haven, and the city of West Haven. Additional sponsors include Watson Inc., Casa Bianca Pizza, US Alliance, and Oyster River Energy. WestFest proceeds will go to WHEAT, the West Haven Emergency Assistance Taskforce.

WestFest’s purpose is to foster collaboration, awareness, and goodwill between the University of New Haven and West Haven communities. In addition to over 40 University of New Haven clubs, offices, and organizations, WestFest will feature a wide variety of local West Haven businesses, food trucks, organizations, and artists. Food trucks participating include Casa Bianca Pizza, Ted’s Steamed Burgers, 744 Express, Rita’s Italian Ice, among others.

Live music and dance will be provided by Him or Her, the Cobalt Rhythm Kings, Top Hat Dance Academy, among others. Other fun activities include our famous pie-eating contest as well as a dunk tank where attendees can dunk City Treasurer Michael Last, University of New Haven professors, and the University of New Haven’s USGA Executive Board. And as always, WestFest will feature a variety of inflatables and games including an obstacle course, bungee run, giant slide, and joust arena. And for the more creative there will be face painting, henna art, and more.

There will be plenty of parking available on side streets and in the City parking lot on Main street. Admission is free and the event is open to anyone ready to have a good time and celebrate all things West Haven!
