Wee Faerie Village at the Florence Griswold Museum
September 29, 2018 - October 28, 2018
Visit the Florence Griswold Museum this fall for their annual outdoor Wee Faerie Village! Visitors of all ages will marvel at the detail and craftsmanship as they explore over thirty hand-crafted, faerie-sized homes nestled throughout the Museum’s 13-acre historic site.
The houses might be informed by the letter, an A-frame in the Alps, a Beachside Bungalow, or a Casa on the Corner or embellished with the letter (s-shaped shingles or pathways of pea-gravel). Homesteads also feature things that begin with the letter. For example, the Shoddy Shack might have snaked-shaped smoke streaming from the single smoke stack. Literally a litany of alliteration!
Lettersburg Junction will feature over three-dozen faerie-scaled places on the Museum’s campus that celebrate the alphabet in a wee faerie fun and imaginative way. 26 Letters, 5 Punctuations, and 1 to infinity Numbers. Visitors tour Lettersburg Junction with their DIRECTIONARY, and can create their very faerie house based on their initials in Letter Land.
Please note there are special hours & pricing for Wee Faerie Village:
Admission includes access to the Wee Faerie Village outdoor exhibition and the special exhibitions in the Krieble Gallery, as well as the historic Florence Griswold House and the rest of the Museum’s facilities. All visitors are responsible for the additional special event admission. During this time, Museum passes, Library passes, 2-for-1 offers, and other discounts apply to the regular admission fee.
