Vital Theatre Company’s The Wizard of Oz at Westport Country Playhouse

Families can enjoy a fresh take on a timeless classic as Vital Theatre Company presents The Wizard of Oz at Westport Country Playhouse on Saturday, June 21, with performances at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. This vibrant production brings the beloved story of Dorothy and her friends—the Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, and even Munchkin puppetry—to life in a reimagined world of Oz.

Adapted and directed by Michael Schloegl, this stage version draws inspiration from L. Frank Baum’s 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and the iconic 1939 film. The production features music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg, background music by Herbert Stothart, dance and vocal arrangements by Peter Howard, and orchestration by Larry Wilcox.

Presented by the same company that brought Pinkalicious The Musical, this show is perfect for children and families looking to experience the magic of Oz in a new way.
