UFOs, Men in Black, and the Mothman: The Unbelievable Life of Gray Barker at Connecticut State Museum of Natural History

Explore the strange and fascinating legacy of UFO investigator and paranormal author Gray Barker during a special event at the Connecticut State Museum of Natural History in Storrs on Saturday, June 7, 2025. This immersive experience features a walking tour of the UConn Arboretum led by members of the UConn Arboretum Committee, including experts in landscape architecture, horticulture, and plant growth management.

While the title hints at Barker’s infamous tales of extraterrestrials, mysterious figures, and unexplained phenomena, the focus of the tour will be on identifying and discussing some of the most unique and storied trees in the Storrs area. Participants will enjoy lively commentary, historic anecdotes, and insights into the natural landscape that complements the museum’s theme of mystery and discovery.

The walk is primarily on sidewalks, with some hills and grassy areas, and is held rain or shine. Severe weather will result in rescheduling. Participants aged 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Details about the meet-up location and parking will be shared with registrants the week before the event. Donations are appreciated to help support free public programming.

Connecticut State Museum of Natural History is located at 75 N Eagleville Rd, Storrs, Connecticut. For more information and to register, visit csmnh.uconn.edu.
