Turner Today at Yale Center for British Art

The Yale Center for British Art presents Turner Today, a public symposium exploring the continued relevance of J. M. W. Turner’s work in contemporary discourse. Held in conjunction with the exhibition J. M. W. Turner: Romance and Reality, this event brings together leading scholars and curators from Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom to consider how Turner’s art resonates with current topics including visual culture, climate change, and resource extraction.
The symposium takes place on Friday, May 9, 2025, beginning at 10:15 am in the Lecture Hall at the Yale Center for British Art. It will also be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person.
Admission is free and open to the public.
