Tree Swallow Sunset Trips on Onrust & RiverQuest at Connecticut River Museum
An event every day that begins at 6:30 pm, repeating until September 23, 2026
Experience one of nature’s most remarkable evening spectacles during the Tree Swallow Sunset Trips aboard Onrust and RiverQuest, offered from August 21 through September 23, 2026.
These evening cruises travel to a special location along the Connecticut River where hundreds of thousands of tree swallows gather at sunset before settling into the reeds for the night. Guests can witness the birds’ breathtaking aerial formations while enjoying a leisurely journey along the river, with opportunities to appreciate its scenic landscapes and wildlife throughout the trip.
Each excursion lasts more than two hours and offers a small-group experience led by the vessel’s captain and crew. The trips are designed for adults and youth ages 10 and older.
Tickets are $50 per person. Availability is limited, and advance reservations are recommended.
