Thursdays on the Dock: Parker’s Tangent at Connecticut River Museum

The Connecticut River Museum’s beloved Thursdays on the Dock concert series continues on August 14, 2025, with a live performance by Parker’s Tangent from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Now in its 16th season, this free waterfront music event invites visitors to bring a chair or blanket, enjoy the evening breeze, and soak in riverfront views accompanied by great live music.

Parker’s Tangent is a New Haven-based band known for its blues-inspired rock sound that blends poetic lyrics with soulful rhythms. Their music spans quiet, emotional ballads to rich blues melodies, featuring vocals likened to Grace Slick and Norah Jones. The group’s lineup includes drums, percussion, guitars, bass, and violin, making their sound both textured and inviting for listeners of all ages.

The band has a long-standing presence in the Connecticut music scene, performing for over two decades at venues like Toad’s Place, the International Festival of Arts and Ideas, and the Westport Blues, Views, and Barbecue Festival, among others.

Guests can enjoy food from Porky Pete’s and sweets from Deep River Ice, along with beer and wine available for purchase. Museum-branded tumblers, which come with a beverage coupon and discount on refills, are available in the gift shop. Please note that BYOB is not allowed.
