There to Here: Meriden’s Immigration Story at Meriden Museum & History Center

A compelling exhibition exploring the diverse roots of a Connecticut community is on view from April 11 through August 1, 2026 at the Meriden Museum & History Center Grand Gallery, 41 West Main Street, Meriden, CT 06451.
There to Here: Meriden’s Immigration Story traces the many journeys that have shaped the city, from its Indigenous beginnings and early European settlement to later waves of immigrants from around the world. The exhibit highlights the experiences of families and communities, including the migration of Puerto Ricans and more recent arrivals who continue to contribute to Meriden’s cultural landscape.
Through artifacts, photographs, and personal stories, the exhibition illustrates how traditions, resilience, and identity have been carried across generations, helping to build the neighborhoods, businesses, and institutions that define the city today.
Tours are available during regular museum hours, with private tours offered by request with at least 72 hours’ notice.
