The Ugly X-Mas Sweater Musical at Playhouse on Park

Playhouse on Park presents the East Coast Premiere of The Ugly X-Mas Sweater Musical, a fresh, interactive, and laugh-out-loud holiday production by Dan Knechtges and Megan Larche Dominick. Directed by Kevin Cronin (née Barlowski), with Music Direction by Miles Messier and Robert James Tomasulo, this unique musical runs from December 4 to December 22, 2024, featuring 7 performances per week.

Combining the humor of The Office with the flair of Project Runway, this musical follows a group of employees who must come up with the best Ugly Christmas Sweater ever made to save their company from an international conglomerate takeover. Attendees are encouraged to wear their own ugly festive sweaters, sing along, and share the joy with friends, coworkers, and family.

Discounted previews are on December 4 at 7:30 pm and December 5 at 2 pm and 7:30 pm. Regular performances include 2 pm matinees on Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday, with evening shows at 7:30 pm on Wednesday and Thursday, and at 8 pm on Friday and Saturday. Post-show discussions with the cast will be held after each Sunday matinee. Special events include a Young Professionals Night on December 12, a late-night drag show on December 14, and a post-show Hootenanny on December 12. River Bend Bookshop will also host a pop-up bookstore in the lobby throughout the show’s run.
