The Second City – 65th Anniversary Show at Ridgefield Playhouse

The Second City marks 65 years of groundbreaking comedy with a special anniversary show at the Ridgefield Playhouse. Since its debut in 1959, the Chicago-based theater has grown into one of the most influential comedy institutions in the world, renowned for its improvisational style and role as a launchpad for countless comedic superstars.

From its early days nurturing talents like Alan Arkin, Joan Rivers, Gilda Radner, and John Belushi to later alumni such as Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Chris Farley, and Keegan-Michael Key, The Second City has shaped the landscape of comedy for decades. The theater also expanded its reach with the Emmy Award-winning sketch series SCTV and continues to inspire audiences through performances, training centers, and global touring shows.
