The Nutcracker at Garde Arts Center

Eastern Connecticut Ballet brings its nautical-themed production of The Nutcracker to the Garde Arts Center, blending classical choreography with the region’s rich maritime heritage. Professionally trained ECB dancers perform alongside Boston Ballet guest artists Kaitlyn Casey and Daniel Durrett, creating a performance rooted in both elegance and storytelling. Set in 1850s New London, the staging highlights iconic locations such as the New London Custom House, tall ships in port, lighthouses, and a sea captain’s Victorian home. Clara and the Nutcracker embark on a magical journey through Arctic ice fields and imagined seafaring landscapes, all set to Tchaikovsky’s beloved score.

Performances take place on December 13 at 1:30 pm and 7:00 pm, and on December 14 at 1:30 pm. Special pricing is offered for children ages 12 and under when selecting the appropriate ticket type during checkout. Senior, military, and group discounts are available through the Garde Box Office by phone or in person.
