Celebrate the resilience, wit, and history of the Irish people with The Irish… And How They Got That Way, a moving and humorous musical history by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Frank McCourt (Angela’s Ashes). This irreverent yet heartfelt production takes audiences through the trials and triumphs of the Irish experience in the 20th and 21st centuries, blending McCourt’s sharp humor with timeless music.
The production features classic Irish folk ballads, patriotic anthems by George M. Cohan, World War II-era tunes, and contemporary hits from Ireland’s own U2. It’s a lively and poignant journey celebrating the indomitable Irish spirit.
Performances run from March 14–30, 2025, at Playhouse on Park, 244 Park Rd, West Hartford, CT. Regular showtimes include Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., Sundays at 2 p.m. (with post-show talkbacks), Tuesdays at 2 p.m., Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m., and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.
