The Goldsmith at Westport Country Playhouse

Experience an intimate evening of storytelling with The Goldsmith at Westport Country Playhouse on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 8:00 pm. Part of the Barnstormer series in the Lucille Lortel White Barn Center, this moving solo play is inspired by Broadway actress Sharone Sayegh’s own family history.

Drawing from her true family journey, The Goldsmith traces stories connected through the heirloom jewelry passed down across generations and borders—from Iraq to Israel and finally to America. Each treasured piece reveals a new chapter in her family’s legacy while Sayegh, a first-generation Iraqi, Israeli, American Jew, grapples with love, identity, and belonging. This intimate performance invites audiences to reflect on the stories and legacies we carry with us through our own lives.

Seating is general admission and unreserved; Barnstormer events are limited to just 70 attendees, creating an up-close and powerful theater experience.
