The Fitzgeralds: A Reading with Music at Westport Country Playhouse

The Westport Country Playhouse will mark the centennial of The Great Gatsby with a special event, The Fitzgeralds: A Reading with Music, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 7 pm. This performance explores the extraordinary relationship between F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, brought to life through their personal letters. Their words reveal the ambition, artistry, and complexities that shaped their lives and some of the most celebrated writing of the 20th century.

Directed by Stephen Hamilton, the evening will feature readings by acclaimed performers Stephanie Zimbalist and Alec Baldwin. An original live score by composer and performer Forrest Gray will provide a moving accompaniment, adding new depth and resonance to the Fitzgeralds’ story.

This unique performance blends literature, theater, and music into a reflective tribute to the voices behind one of America’s most iconic works. Portions of the proceeds will benefit the Woodward Internship program at the Playhouse.
