The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence

The Waide Center for Applied Ethics will present “The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence” as part of its Seminar Series on Wednesday, September 23, at 4 pm. The event will be held virtually.
Sven Nyholm, Professor of Ethics of Artificial Intelligence and Principal Investigator of AI Ethics at the Munich Center for Machine Learning, will lead the seminar. He is also co-editor of the journal Science and Engineering Ethics.
Nyholm’s research and teaching focus on applied ethics, including the ethics of artificial intelligence, as well as practical philosophy and the philosophy of technology. He is the author of The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence: A Philosophical Introduction (2026), This is Technology Ethics: An Introduction (2023), and Revisiting Kant’s Universal Law and Humanity Formulas (2015).
