The Architecture of the YCBA Tour at Yale Center for British Art

Visitors can explore the remarkable design of the Yale Center for British Art during this in-depth docent-led tour. This engaging experience highlights the museum’s iconic building, designed by modernist architect Louis I. Kahn (1901–1974).

Guests will learn about Kahn’s innovative approach to materials, light, and spatial relationships that make the YCBA a masterpiece of modern architecture. The tour also provides insights into how the building complements and enhances the museum’s world-renowned collection.

This architecture-focused tour will take place on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 3:45 pm. Tours meet in the Entrance Court by the Visitor Services desk and are led by the museum’s dedicated community of volunteer educators.
