Tempus Fugit at United States Coast Guard Band

Join us on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in Leamy Hall at the United States Coast Guard Academy for a breathtaking concert, “Tempus Fugit,” celebrating the vastness of time and space. Under the direction of Captain Adam Williamson, the program will feature an array of powerful compositions.

Program Highlights:

  • Jay Kennedy’s “Catapult” – Opens with an energetic flourish.
  • Felix Mendelssohn’s “Scherzo” from A Midsummer Night’s Dream – A lively, bustling classic.
  • Percy Grainger’s “Molly on the Shore” – An iconic piece with brisk movement.
  • Alexandra Gardner’s “Time Unfolding” – Featuring Senior Chief Musician Joshua Thomas on alto saxophone.
  • Pierre Leemans’ “March of the Belgian Paratroopers” – A charming concert march.
  • Gerard Schwarz’s “Rudolf and Jeanette” – Emotional and retrospective.
  • Paul Hindemith’s “March” from Symphonic Metamorphosis – Closes the program with thrilling sounds.
