On view through May 18, 2025, Ted Williams: The Splendid Splinter in Waterbury explores the life and legacy of one of baseball’s greatest figures. Hosted in the museum’s History Gallery, this exhibition showcases memorabilia, artwork, and archival material from the Frederic “Flyhawk” Koch collection, donated in honor of Koch’s father.
The exhibition highlights Ted Williams’ Hall of Fame career, his military service, and his lasting impact on the sport and American culture. Visitors can experience a personal glimpse into the story of the man known as “The Splendid Splinter,” brought to life through an intimate and thoughtfully curated selection of artifacts.
The Mattatuck Museum is located at 144 West Main Street in Waterbury, Connecticut. Admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, $10 for college students with ID, and $8 for children ages 5–18. Admission is free for members, military personnel, children under 5, and Waterbury students. Additional discounts are available on the museum’s website.
Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm. The museum is closed on Mondays through May.
