Summer on Stage: The Snow Queen at Garde Arts Center

Participants in the Garde Arts Center’s Summer On Stage program, in collaboration with the Missoula Children’s Theatre, will take the stage to present The Snow Queen, an original musical filled with enchantment and adventure. The production is the culmination of a week-long series of rehearsals and theater workshops held from Monday, July 21 through Friday, July 25, 2025.
Set in a magical “land of colored ice,” this heartwarming adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale is brought to life by a lively cast of hobgoblins who guide the audience through a young girl’s journey to rescue her best friend. Along the way, the audience will encounter whimsical and unexpected characters including malevolent mirrors, talking reindeer, snow chickens, and yetis. The story highlights themes of resilience, friendship, and the courage it takes to break down even the iciest of barriers.
Performances will be held at the Garde Arts Center, 325 State Street, New London, CT 06320, on Friday, July 25 at 7:00 pm and Saturday, July 26 at 11:00 am. For ticket information and additional details, visit gardearts.org.
