Student Guide Tour | J. M. W. Turner: Romance and Reality at Yale Center for British Art
May 10 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

In celebration of the 250th anniversary of J. M. W. Turner’s birth, the Yale Center for British Art presents Romance and Reality, a major exhibition highlighting one of the most influential British artists in history. This student-led tour on Saturday, May 10 at 1:00 pm invites visitors to explore a rare selection of Turner’s most celebrated works.
The exhibition showcases highlights from the museum’s Turner collection—the most extensive outside the United Kingdom—including iconic oil paintings such as Dort, or Dordrecht: The Dort Packet-Boat from Rotterdam Becalmed (1818) and Staffa, Fingal’s Cave (1832). Visitors will also view remarkable watercolors, prints, and the artist’s only complete sketchbook housed outside the British Isles.
Yale Center for British Art is located at 1080 Chapel Street, New Haven, Connecticut. Admission is free. For more information, visit britishart.yale.edu.
