Songs from the Imagination: Music Inspired by the Poetry of William Blake at Yale Center for British Art

The Yale Center for British Art presents Songs from the Imagination: Music Inspired by the Poetry of William Blake, a concert celebrating the enduring influence of Blake’s visionary words on generations of composers. On Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 5 pm to 6:15 pm, the Yale Voxtet will fill the Library Court with stirring performances of works by Benjamin Britten, John Tavener, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and others who found creative inspiration in Blake’s poetry.

This program offers a unique intersection of art, literature, and music, complementing the Center’s exhibition William Blake: Burning Bright. The performance invites listeners to experience Blake’s imaginative spirit through the expressive power of song.
