Songbook at Welte Auditorium – Central Connecticut State University

Central Connecticut State University’s Dance Education Program, in collaboration with Dancentral, presents Songbook, a one-show-only dance performance on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Welte Auditorium on the university’s main campus in New Britain. Admission is free, with donations accepted to support CCSU dance program scholars. The event will also be livestreamed at ccsu.edu/dance.

Songbook is a dynamic fusion of music and movement, blending the timeless charm of the Great American Songbook with the upbeat energy of contemporary pop hits. Audiences can expect a wide range of choreographic styles—from classical ballet to cutting-edge street dance—set to music that spans generations.

The performance features CCSU dance faculty and scholars alongside notable professional guest companies such as Jennifer Muller/The Works and Island Reflections Dance Theatre. Guest choreographers include Garet Wierdsma, Emily Bufferd, and Christine Sessa. Norwich Free Academy will also participate, showcasing the talents of young dancers from its performing arts program.
