Sketching in the Galleries at Yale University Art Gallery

Guests of all ages and skill levels are invited to experience the timeless practice of drawing in the inspiring setting of the Yale University Art Gallery. Sketching in the Galleries will take place on Thursday, June 5, 2025, beginning at 5:30 pm.
This guided evening session continues a tradition that began in 1867 when Street Hall, now part of the Yale University Art Gallery, first opened as the nation’s inaugural collegiate school of art. The program offers an opportunity to sketch original works of art in the gallery’s collection, following in the footsteps of generations of art students.
Materials will be provided, and no prior drawing experience is necessary. This event is generously sponsored by the Martin A. Ryerson Lectureship Fund.
