Sketching in the Galleries at Yale University Art Gallery

Street Hall, now part of the Yale University Art Gallery, was home to the nation’s first school of art when it opened in 1867. Its early curriculum encouraged students from all backgrounds to sketch from live models and original artworks, establishing a creative tradition that continues today. Guests can take part in this historic practice during an evening of guided sketching on December 11, 2025, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
