Sketching in the Galleries at Yale University Art Gallery

The Yale University Art Gallery invites visitors to take part in an evening of guided sketching in the galleries. This program revives a practice dating back to 1867, when Street Hall—the nation’s first collegiate school of art and now part of the Gallery—encouraged students to sketch from live models and original works of art.
The event is open to all ages and levels of drawing experience, and materials will be provided. It takes place on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Yale University Art Gallery, 1111 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT 06510. Admission is free.
