Sensory Friendly Hour at Connecticut River Museum

January 21 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Sensory Friendly Hour at Connecticut River Museum

The Connecticut River Museum offers a special Sensory Friendly Hour designed to make exhibits accessible to visitors with a range of abilities. With support from The Petit Family Foundation, the program provides sensory-friendly items such as bean bag chairs, noise-canceling headphones, and fidget toys. Exhibits with loud sounds or bright lights are modified, and a designated quiet room allows visitors to decompress and enjoy the Museum at their own pace.

During this session, attendees can experience the annual Model Train exhibit and meet Steve Cryan, the artist behind the display. Preview guides and materials are available for families to read together before visiting.

The program will be held on January 21, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Connecticut River Museum, 67 Main Street, Essex, Connecticut. For more information, contact August Stromberger, Public Programs and Education Manager, at astromberger@ctrivermuseum.org.
